CULTURE ACADEMY

PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES

AND

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

I. PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES:

Culture Academy is an international peer-reviewed academic journal where the critical, analysing, creative and original scientific articles in such fields as cultural science and management are published. 

In Culture Academy, all the manuscripts are published under such titles as “article, translation, review, compilation, commemorating articles etc.” 

​

Culture Academy is published two times in a year, in July and December. Annual index is in the issue published in December. 

All the submitted articles should be not published in anywhere else or should not be under consideration for publication anywhere else. As long as the information regarding the presentation is given as a footnote on the first page, unpublished presentation papers are also accepted.

The articles published in Culture Academy neither can be published or presented as a paper without permission, not used partially or completely without referencing.

The authors of the articles which are submitted for publication should reach a consensus in terms of the order or their names. 

It should be kept in mind that the copyright of all the writings and articles accepted for the publication in the journal are transferred to Culture Academy. The authors cannot request a copyright contract, or the journal does not pay royalty to the authors. 

The legal and scientific responsibility of the views and writing preferences in the published work belongs to the authors. Also, legal responsibility in translation work belongs to the authors and translators, but in multi-author work to the first author. 

During the publication process, immaterial minor corrections can be made by the Editor with the help of TDK (Turkish Language Association) Spelling Guide and Dictionaries.

Application for article submission can be made by registering the Article Management System on cultureacademy06@gmail.com. The Languages Culture Academy use are Turkish and English. Therefore, it is necessary to upload the articles written in Turkish with both Turkish and English versions to the Article Management System. If the editor requested emendations for the manuscript text, the edited versions should be uploaded to the Article Management System at least in 1 (one) month.

All submissions to Culture Academy are checked detailly according to the publication principles. The articles which do not comply with the publication principles are sent back to their authors so that the authors can edit and make corrections. The ones that are found suitable for publication are evaluated in the Editorial Board with the reference of field editor in terms of scientificalness, originality and academic objectivity. The articles accepted in the editorial board are sent to two journal referees who are experts of the related field.  In Culture Academy, the publication goes go through a blind review process and referee reports are kept in Article Management System. If one of the referee reports is positive and the other one is negative, then the article can be sent to another third referee or Editorial Board can make a final decision by looking at the referee reports. It is the Editorial Board who makes the final decision on publishing the articles.

II. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

​

TITLE: Title should be no longer than 14 words, written in bold and the first letters of the words should be capitalized. The second language format of the title should be written under it with the letters of the first words capitalized. 

Author names: Author names should be written under the title of the article. Position titles of the authors, institution address, e-mail address and information regarding the ORDIC number should also be written as a footnote in the first page by attaching an asterisk to the surname.

ABSTRACT AND KEY WORDS: In the abstract which is required to be written in both Turkish and English and does not exceed 250 words, the purpose, scope, method, and results of the study should be provided. In that part, there should not be any references, figures, charts, et cetera. Five keywords should be provided written in both Turkish and English. There must be commas between the key words which are related to the title and main article and a full stop at the end.

THE TEXT: The manuscript should be no longer than 7000 words including the abstract in Turkish and English, key words, footnotes, and references. This can be changed with a decision by Editorial Board. 

​

The articles should be composed of introduction, body (analysis) and result parts. First-level headings should be bold, and the first letters of every word must be capitalized. Second-level headings must have initial capital letter and be written in italics. 

​

Articles should be written in MS Word 2007 or an above version in Cambria (Normal) font, in size 12 and with 1,5 line spacing. The abstract and footnotes should be in size 10 and with 1 line spacing. Margins should be 2.5cm and there should not be page numbers. The manuscript text should be justified without indenting. Also, there should not be line spacing between paragraphs and there should be spaces automatically 0 nk before the paragraph and 6 nk after the paragraph. All direct quotations exceeding 5 lines should be written with margins of 1,5 cm on both sides of the page, with 1  (one) space and in size 10.

If the research is supported by an institution or a fund, then it should be indicated with the related institution and project titles in the footnote section.

III. REFERENCING: 

​

Similarity Score of the Article should not be over 20%. The Quotation Score of Research Articles should not be over 30%. 

When drawing a table with a number and title, horizontal lines (not vertical) should be used to separate subheadings from each other.  The number of the table must be written above it and aligned left, and the name of the title must be written just below that line with initial capital letter. Tables should be shown inside the text. The figure numbers and their names with initial capital letters should be written aligned on the left of it. The references of the tables and figures should be written below them.

Paintings, photographs, cartoons etc. should be used inside the text with their references and they should have high resolution.   

Electronic references should be given inside the text with the abbreviations like “URL-1, URL-2”. The oral references should be abbreviated as “KK-1. KK-2” inside the text but they must be written detailly in the list of references section. 

Authors are required to follow official APA 7 version for in-text citations and the list of references section:
